Shira is an access strategist with a background in landscape architecture and environment and resource management. She specializes in creating universally accessible parks, trails and outdoor recreation experiences. She has been working with a variety of organizations in BC to promote universal design in parks, and has helped to train parks professionals to assess and design accessible sites. Shira’s experience working with people with a variety of disabilities helps to inform both her work and her ability to communicate with all types of park and trail users. As a wheelchair user, Shira’s approach to site design incorporates thoughtful and unique features which are ‘inherently’ accessible, creating seamless and accessible environments.

Mike is an access strategist with over 20 years of experience working with people with disabilities in a variety of roles. Recent projects include the development of an inclusive physical activity program for kids with disabilities and managing a provincial accessible tourism initiative. His expertise lie in the area of strategic planning, social media and network analysis, knowledge management and inclusion programming. Mike sees new technologies as exciting opportunities to engage everyone in the community.
